BBC Good Food Show Winter 2018
BBC Good Food Show is back at The NEC for its Winter edition until Sunday 2nd December and I went to check it out.
Set over several large halls at the rear of The NEC, BBC Good Food Show has been coming to Birmingham for many years now and this Winter edition allows a bit of Christmas shopping as well as trying samples of drinks and food, and by drinks I mean Gin and by food I mean Cheese! There’s lots of both!
It’s worth getting to The NEC for around 10am and my suggestion is to get the train as the car parks are so vast and charge you a day rate of anything up to £20. Patience is key to a great day. Everyone wants to try samples, get deals and find out the new trends and what businesses they know are doing.
Normally I’d just go from row to row and ensure I walk past everything, however for my blog I wanted to go and check out a few key Birmingham businesses,
My first stop was Langley’s Gin based in Langley Green, Katie was on hand to show me their Old Tom Gin, I’m not normally a gin fan but this was great to have a try of. Lovely got a Gin Lover!
Then I went to find Purely Plantain Chips who are based in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter. They do three flavours of chips and my favourite is Wild Garlic.
Next I found the Stourbridge based Sadler’s and tried a sample of their Black Spiced Rum. I might have to get a bottle of this in the future!!
I headed away from the drink and round to the food sections. Tan Rosie is round the corner here and they sell great home-grown Caribbean products from Fudge to sauces to add to dinner. (Look out for my blog post about my experience with Tan Rosie Caribbean Cookery School soon.)
Of course there are not just Birmingham based businesses here, Noveltea we on BBC Dragon’s Den a few weeks ago and I got to try some of their Green Mint Tea with Rum which was heated by a single candle. Lovely!
Check out BBC Good Food Show Winter until Sunday 2nd December at The NEC, Birmingham.
This isn’t a sponsored post. #BrumHour was invited to BBC Good Food Show Winter by the PR.
