December is fast approaching and with Christmas still a month away. I’ve got a whole calendar of chocolate to eat before the big day! Here’s 13 things to do in December in Birmingham:

People come from all over the UK and even beyond to tempt you with food and drink from all over the world. Personally, I could just spend the entire day just eating cheese and sampling all the drinks but there’s loads to explore. Look out for top Birmingham chef’s Glynn Purnell or Brad Carter and Brummie based business including Tan Rosie and Langley’s Gin.

The Nutcracker (23rd November-13th December)

Now an annual tradition from Birmingham Royal Ballet, The Nutcracker is a real treat for any fan of ballet or a great introduction for anyone looking for their first taste of the magic of this stunning show.

Dorothy seems pretty dangerous when it comes to moving house and dealing with inclement weather. She’s also on a mission to get home. Birmingham Rep promises a visit to Oz like no other.

As an international drag artist, Dusty O went off to that London leaving behind a very different Birmingham to the city we know today. After hanging up the wigs, makeup, heels and dresses. It’s a Wonderful Life – A Live Radio Play (6th-24th December)

Starring David Essex as Buddy the Elf’s father, Martine McCutcheon as Buddy’s girlfriend, Jovie and comedy actor Tam Ryan as Buddy.
