Selfridges is getting ready to welcome a stack of emerging talent and performance artists to the store this month as it hosts its annual Live + Loud Festival, which celebrates the city’s diverse arts movement.
This year’s event, which coincides with the department store’s 15th anniversary in Birmingham, takes place over 27th-30th September and will see Birmingham rapper Stardom, whose new album Grams and Dreams has been catching the attention of leading DJs, perform alongside a host of performers over the four-day festival.
From a beauty bonanza to family entertainment, visual artists and singer-songwriters from the West Midlands, there are more than 20 amazing events to enjoy. Highlights include stunning dance performances by Birmingham’s Rosie Kay Dance Company, performances from Britain’s Got Talent stars Flawless, and sets from city-based Capital Xtra mix DJ Jess Monroe.
During Live + Loud, Selfridges’ acclaimed food hall will host the Mainstage on 1 , which will see up-and-coming acts from Birmingham perform, while other artists from the city and beyond will showcase their talents throughout the store.
SB.TV, whose YouTube channel has 10 million subscribers, is collaborating with Selfridges once again to create an art installation/pop-up radio studio on Level 2. The live broadcasts between 27th and 30th September will be complete with with artist appearances, conversation areas and a performance space.
Sam Watts, general manager of Selfridges Birmingham, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to unveil this year’s line-up of performers and artists who will take to the stage for this year’s Live + Loud festival.
