Lane 7 Opens at The Cube, Birmingham

Lane 7 describes itself as “Boutique bowling in Newcastle, Aberdeen and Middlesbrough!” This week it opened its doors at the Cube, in Birmingham.

#BrumHour sent guest blogger Paul Clarke to have a game of ten pin bowling on our behalf and here is what Paul sent back:

Boutique bowling is a good description as Lane 7 has a luxury wooden interior and grown-up sophistication. They offer more than just bowling with a retro games arcade, an American shuffleboard area and even private karaoke room.

There is a big emphasis on playing, as well as bowling, so it’s a good choice of venue for groups of friends and parties.

Party Hire

There are 9 walnut bowling lanes, including two that are devoted to party hire. The party hire lanes are in a separate, more private area and come with luxury seating and a fridge that will be stocked with the range of goodies that you select when you book your party package.

As well as the bowling lanes there is a retro gaming area, I spotted games such as Donkey Kong, Track and Field, Pac Man and Space Invaders. By the gaming area there are 3 tables that you can hire to play American Shuffleboard, which is growing in popularity in the UK. There are also 2 customised tables that you can hire to play beer pong on.

The Perfect Selfie Spot

A pair of large red and white wings on the wall with a gap in between that you can stand in to get someone to take a photo of you that will make it look like they are your wings or you can try out the photo booth.

A karaoke room is available for hire and has a funky neon interior to perfect your latest musical interpretation.

Good to know

Calling is to the only way to book with Lane 7 but you can use the online form to send enquiries to Lane 7 and staff will then get back to you.

Bookings for multiple games cannot be made, even in advance, lanes can only be booked one game at a time on a first come first-served basis. If you would like a second game you can ask about the availability when you check in at the venue. Lane 7 request that you arrive 15 minutes before your booking.

After 7pm due to licensing laws it is over 18s only. Before 7pm all under 14s must be accompanied by an adult.

Check out the website at: lane7.co.uk/birmingham

This isn’t a sponsored post. Paul Clarke checked out Lane 7 on behalf of #BrumHour and didn’t pay for bowling or drinks.
