Cookes Furniture host afternoon tea to raise funds for The Cancer Support Centre
A charity afternoon tea hosted by Cookes Furniture will raise vital funds for The Cancer Support Centre in Sutton Coldfield.
The family-run store, based at Goosemoor Lane, Birmingham is inviting locals to join them for an afternoon of cakes, sandwiches, tea, coffee and fizz for just £10, plus a whole host of fantastic raffle prizes to be won.
Held on Thursday 1 March in Edwards café bar, located within Cookes Furniture, the tea will begin at 2.30pm with all proceeds on the day going directly to the charity.
Organisers hope the event will help top last year’s fundraising total of £1,200, with the store having raised a total of £7,000 for The Cancer Support Centre since 2010.
Cookes Furniture has continued to support the centre after Managing Director, James Pike, was appointed patron of the charity in 2016.
As well as holding regular afternoon teas, the store has also raised money for the centre by completing the 100-mile Velo Birmingham cycle challenge and hosting a Gala Evening.
Vanessa Hoe, Marketing Director at Cookes Furniture, said: “We are passionate about supporting local causes within our community, and have worked with The Cancer Support Centre for nearly eight years now.
“We hope the event on 1 March will help kick start this year’s fundraising efforts and we will go on to raise a record amount for the Centre,” she added.
