Dog auditions to be hosted for Legally Blonde The Musical
Does your dog have star quality?
The producers of Legally Blonde the Musical are on the hunt for a canine star for when the show comes to the New Alexandra Theatre from Monday 21 to Saturday 26 May 2018.
Legally Blonde has two very important members of cast – a Chihuahua called Bruiser and a dog called Rufus. Bruiser is already cast, so they are holding auditions to find a Rufus!
Auditions will be held at the New Alexandra Theatre on Sunday 4 February between 10am and 12noon
The panel is looking for a British Bulldog: First and foremost they are looking for a British Bulldog as appeared in the film. However they are open to other breeds, but they need to have that look about them. Fairly bullish and robust. Cute and fluffy is not what they are looking for!
Your dog will need to be: relaxed, laid back, with a good temperment. The dog will need to be good with people and enjoys a good fuss, they would love to hear from you.
If your dog responds to ‘come here’, ‘sit’ etc. and doesn’t just wander off doing its own thing. They don’t expect the dog to perform tricks.
Although absolutely not essential, some form of stage experience would be a huge bonus. Even the most confident of dogs can suddenly be affected by the lights, the band and the huge round of applause they are bound to receive on their big entrance!
Anyone who would like to apply for an audition can email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information and an application form.
Please note you and your dog must be available from Monday 21 to Saturday 26 May.
This isn’t a sponsored post but #BrumHour will hopefully be invited to see your dog’s debut on the Birmingham stage.
