The Gracechurch Centre to plunge into darkness for Earth Hour this weekend
Sutton Coldfield’s Gracechurch Centre is set to join thousands of businesses across the UK this Saturday 25th March, as it puts the spotlight on climate change by turning off its lights in support of Earth Hour.
From 8.30pm, the Centre will switch off all external signage around the Centre, as well as all non-essential lights, to mark the annual global initiative.
Angela Henderson, centre manager at The Gracechurch Centre, said: “This is the fourth consecutive year that we’ve participated in the global ‘lights out’ event Earth Hour.
“Taking part in Earth Hour is a great way to show your customers and community that your organisation genuinely care about the environmental footprint. It’s such a simple way to show your support on an important issue and we would encourage as many homes and businesses across Sutton Coldfield to do the same.”
Earth Hour started in 2007 and has since grown into a global movement with hundreds of millions of people from more than 5,000 cities and towns in 150 countries and territories worldwide switching off their lights.
