UberEATS launches in Birmingham
Following its successful UK launch in London last year and Manchester last month, UberEATS, the popular food app has chosen Birmingham as its third city to deliver restaurant-standard dishes to homes and offices.
An alternative choice to the traditional take-away, UberEATS will be offering food and drink from over 100 top eateries, including firm favourites Yakinori, Rub Smokehouse, My Lahore, Yorks Bakery Café, Leon, PAUL and many more.
Using a network of bicycles and mopeds UberEATS will be serving lunch, dinner and treats to food enthusiasts in central Birmingham, with plans to expand the delivery zone in the coming months.
Operating in a similar way to the rides service, people will be able to order dishes from a range of cuisines on the UberEATS app or by visiting ubereats.com, and can then watch their food arrive in real-time via a live map. As well as aiming to deliver in 30 minutes, the food delivery firm is also offering no minimum order size.
Mathieu Proust, General Manager at UberEATS, said: “We’re really excited to be launching UberEATS in our third city, Birmingham. We have been blown away with the quality of the food in the city and can’t wait to get the service fully up and running. We have a very successful rides business here, and are confident that UberEATS will be just as popular. With UberEATS you can enjoy dishes from eateries that wouldn’t normally deliver, allowing you to have restaurant-worthy food in the comfort of your own home.”
Simon Ford, Managing Director at Yorks Bakery Café: “With 20inch stone-baked sharing pizzas and craft beers taking centre stage at our new Yorks Cafe at IKON Gallery, a partnership with UberEATS is an exciting opportunity to get the our pizzas into the homes and offices of our customers all over Birmingham. We’ve been looking for a delivery partner to support the launch of our new cafe and UberEATS reputation in the US and other UK cities makes them the perfect choice for us.”
UberEATS will be available seven days a week, from 11am – 11pm. To find out more, visit the website: ubereats.com/birmingham
