The Mailbox marks first anniversary with weekend of events
Birmingham’s premier lifestyle and shopping destination is gearing up for three days of exclusive offers and events as the Mailbox Sessions make their much-anticipated return next weekend.
Taking place from Friday 21st to Sunday 23rd October, the Mailbox Sessions are a specially curated series of events showcasing everything that the Mailbox has to offer, from fashion and style to beauty and pampering, art and cinema to food and drink.
Building on the success of last year, this year’s Mailbox Sessions are set to be even bigger and better, with the addition of special guests including wine expert and journalist, Joanna Simon, group executive chef at Tom’s Kitchen, Richard O’Connell, and Harley-Street-based cosmetic dermatologist, Dr Sam Bunting.
There’s nothing quite like Friday night at the Mailbox, and it’s set to be a very stylish occasion indeed, as Gieves & Hawkes and L.K. Bennett host their Dress For Success’event on Friday 21st October, 2016.
Featuring live music, canapés and plenty of refreshments, ticket holders will be able to enjoy an evening of style, and discover the secrets to the perfect seasonal looks, as well as receive a gift bag worth £120.
Throughout the rest of the weekend, guests will be able to experience an exciting mix of ticketed in-store events and panel discussions.
To celebrate the arrival of Tom’s Kitchen at the Mailbox later this year, visitors are being given an exclusive chance to get-up-close-and-personal with Tom Aikens’ executive chef, Richard O’Connell. Taking place in Kitchen Gallery’s flagship showroom, complete with fully working appliances, a small handful of visitors will be given the chance to see the chef in action as he cooks up delicious dishes.
Whether you’re a wine enthusiast or complete novice, head to Harvey Nichols’ Wine Shop where award-winning wine expert, journalist and presenter, Joanna Simon, will join Harvey Nichols’ wine specialist, Siofra O’Brien, as they guide guests through a range of contemporary and classic wines accompanied by charcuterie and cheese plates.
Have a skincare query? Join Dr Sam Bunting and TV presenter, Suzanne Virdee in their Harvey Nichols Skin Clinic as they talk problem skin, anti-ageing and redness, and answer your burning questions on all things skincare-related.
Elsewhere in the Mailbox, a series of free-to-attend lively demonstrations hosted by TV presenter Suzanne Virdee will take place on stage in the Mailbox’s luxurious Urban Room. Guests will have the chance to learn all the tips and tricks in the art of cocktail making as Aluna takes to the stage in a theatrical and impressive cocktail masterclass.
Visitors can finish the weekend with an insightful hair & beauty session with the professionals at Toni & Guy, and international award-winning makeup artist, Karla Powell, or discover their colour palette with personal stylist Esta Jephcott.
With Q&A sessions and complimentary drinks, these free events are the perfect way to end an action-packed weekend at the Mailbox.
David Pardoe, head of marketing, retail and tenant engagement at the Mailbox, comments: “The Mailbox Sessions marks one year since the Mailbox reopened. In 12 months, we’ve welcomed a number of exciting new openings and played host to over 100 events.
“In the last few months alone, we’ve had eclectic British fashion brand, Paul Smith, open its doors, Kitchen Gallery has opened its flagship showroom and we’ve welcomed luxury property specialists Fine & Country.
“With a host of new openings lined up for the near future, including the arrival of Tom’s Kitchen later this year, what better way to celebrate our first anniversary than with a weekend full of exclusive events and offers!”
