About The Old Rep

One year after re-launching under a bold new vision, as a young people-driven venue in the heart of the city, The Old Rep has welcomed over 50,000 audience members and more than 10,000 participants in their creative community programme. Alongside a vibrant programme of sell-out comedy, dance, drama and top quality work for families, The Old Rep has forged partnerships with national organisations including Arts Council England, Frantic Assembly and the National Youth Theatre; and a regional reputation for its apprenticeship programme with Creative Alliance, and pioneering young creative leaders programme Southside Producers. These growing partnerships provide creative, educational and training opportunities for the young people, families, artists and communities of Birmingham and beyond. The oldest purpose-built repertory theatre in the UK, The Old Rep has been described as a hidden gem of Birmingham, where innovative new work thrives alongside over 100 years of theatre heritage. The Old Rep is managed and operated by Birmingham Ormiston Academy Theatre Limited, part of the Birmingham Ormiston Academy group of companies.
