Solihull businesses celebrate Christmas in June!

On Thursday 30 June, you could have been forgiven for thinking that it was Christmas Day at Holiday Inn Birmingham Airport. Walking into the bar, guests were surrounded by Christmas trees and staff wearing Christmas jumpers and hats and even the odd greeting of ‘Merry Christmas’. 42 businesses, from across the borough, had been invited to the hotel’s Christmas Showcase as a ‘thank you’ for their continued support during its £1 million investment over the last 2 years. The final part of the refurbishment project will be the addition of the new ‘open lobby’ at the end of the Summer.

115 guests enjoyed welcome drinks and a sumptuous 3-course Christmas dinner, with a selection of wines and soft drinks whilst dancing the night away to music from the fantastic ‘Never Mind the Juke Box’ and DJ, provided by One Music Management.

Guests pulled crackers and dipped into favours provided by Treats Allowed and really got into the spirit of Christmas, even making room for traditional mince pies, tea and coffee!

A Christmas event wouldn’t be complete without Father Christmas, who made a special appearance, posing for photographs with guests taken by Caperture Photography.

Nicola Corfield, Director of Sales added, ‘Our Christmas Showcase has become an annual event. We were honoured to host The Mayor of Solihull, Councillor Mike Robinson and The Mayoress of Solihull, Mrs Jenny Robinson, as well as 42 businesses from across Solihull. It was a pleasure to be able to thank them for their continued support. Holiday Inn Birmingham Airport has a long history as a destination venue for weddings and other family celebrations, with many returning time and again due to the fond memories of their experiences with us. We are committed to remaining a hub within the Solihull community’.
