Opus in Conversation: Bees in the City – Friday 15th July, from 5.30pm
Opus at Cornwall Street is set to create a buzz in July with a lively conversation on how to save one of Europe’s most endangered species – bees. A number of bee species in the UK are under serious threat of extinction and Opus will be bringing together some of The Midlands’ leading specialists to discuss how to save these crucial creatures.
Part of its ‘Opus In Conversation’ series – a collection of talks discussing matters important to the city – the panel includes Sharif Kahn, President of Birmingham & District Beekeepers Association (BDBKA), Professor Keith Walters, specialist in invertebrates and researcher into neonicotinoids at Harper Adams University and Simon Needle, Ecologist, Woodland and Conservation Manager at Birmingham City Council. Dr David Gregory-Kumar, Science, Environment and Rural Affairs Correspondent for BBC Midlands Today, will be chairing the event. Tickets are free and can be booked on 0121 200 2323.
