Trying the menu at Queens Road, Coventry

Last month was invited by Ramada Coventry to try out Queens Road, Restaurant Bar & Grill. Having never eaten at a Ramada I was interested to find out what their food was like. In short.. It’s excellent!

We arrived at Queens Road for just after 7.30pm. We were greeted by happy and friendly staff. One of the great things about having a blog is that you consider trying different food to get an experience. This is large bar and restaurant with a flexible layout.

Our waitress came over and talked us through the menu. There were several specials to try, but we wanted to stick to the experience that a regular guest would have. They have daily specials with reasonably priced high quality food!

For starters; I tried smoked Barbary duck and my friend had baby back ribs. I do like duck and this came with celeriac salad and lovely raspberry dressing. My friend was very happy with his baby back ribs!

I had a Symonds Cider to drink and my friend drank red wine.

The mains came next, my friend had Welsh Lamb Pave which looked great! I chose Orchard Pork Schnitzel. We did go a little overboard on sides as I wanted to show a range of their side dishes. We chose green beans and chorizo, mac and cheese and fat cut chips. There was a lot of food!

As a four-star hotel it draws plenty of business guests during the week from those who wish to have a quiet drink to a full on dinner. The restaurant has a fresh modern feel to it and you can see the results of a recent £200,000 investment makeover which was completed December 2015 . Our server was very polite, interested in the menu and happy to answer questions that we had.

We moved on our puddings and my friend had the Lemon Cheesecake while I tried the Eton Mess. Both were really lovely! Particularly the Eton mess!

If you are in Coventry for business or an event or just popping there for dinner then Queens Road is well worth trying! Queens Road is 10min walk into  Coventry city centre and 7min to Coventry train station.

Follow Queens Road on twitter at: twitter.com/QRcoventry and on Facebook facebook.com/Queens-Road-Restaurant-Bar-and-Grill-207713189434682/ and the Christmas brochure will be launched very soon!

We were invited to try the menu with the compliments of Queens Road in exchange for an honestly held blog post.
