“All profits from that day of business are going to YMCA Birmingham. Doghouse Barbers also cut homeless young people’s hair for free at YMCA Birmingham’s Erdington flagship site: The Orchard on 16th February and will work with other homeless organisations such as Doorway at later dates that are yet to be confirmed. Please tell everyone about this fundraising day, to both support a successful local business and charity in the local area. We have invited Jack Dromey MP of Erdington to attend.
“Alan Fraser at YMCA Birmingham said “As a local charity, YMCA Birmingham relies on the generosity of local people and businesses. We’re delighted that Jay and the team at Doghouse have chosen us as the charity they wish to support.
“But more than that, a good haircut affects not just the way that other people see you, but also the way you feel about yourself. So often young people struggling to keep a roof over their head have to prioritise lots of other things over haircuts. But research has shown the difference it can make. So Jay’s fundraiser is not just a novel idea, it’s a great way of really helping homeless people.”

“On April 26th, I am running the London Marathon (26+ Miles) to fundraise for local homeless young people
I’m embarking on this “mission” to raise much needed funds to help young people from disadvantaged homeless young people achieve their dreams. We are looking for donations to help us provide support with homelessness, education, training, apprenticeships, employment opportunities and sports to encourage and equip young people to succeed.
